The energy of art, from Frieze to the city of Seoul: Frieze Nights

The Frieze Seoul experience doesn’t end at COEX. During Frieze Week, Frieze Neighbourhood Nights take place in Hannam, Cheongdam and Samcheong. Leading galleries and cultural spaces stay open late, while brand exhibitions and artist collaborations unfold across the city. Visit the fair by day, then choose a neighbourhood to explore on foot in the evening. Experiencing the distinct cultures and art of each area is another way to enjoy Seoul during Frieze Week.

Hannam Night

In Hannam, you can explore international galleries and independent cultural spaces, with the Leeum Museum of Art at the heart of the neighbourhood. Leading galleries, including Pace Gallery and Lehmann Maupin, are dotted throughout its lanes, so it is worth exploring the neighbourhood on foot rather than heading to just one destination.

Cheongdam Night

In Cheongdam, art, fashion and luxury culture come together naturally. The area is home to leading cultural spaces and galleries, including SONGEUN, White Cube and Perrotin, while global fashion and jewellery houses present exhibitions and artist collaborations during Frieze Week. Another pleasure of Cheongdam Night is seeing how brands interpret art, alongside the galleries.

Samcheong Night

In Samcheong, contemporary art meets Gyeongbokgung Palace, hanok houses and old alleyways. Major cultural spaces, including the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Kukje Gallery, Gallery Hyundai and Art Sonje Center, are clustered nearby, making the area easy to explore on foot. Frieze Music takes place as well. Samcheong Night’s greatest appeal lies in the meeting of Seoul’s historic landscape and contemporary culture in one place.
